Chicken and waffles has been one of my top favorite meals since the first time I tried it. My family loves it too so I find myself making it quite often. The first time I cooked it at home I realized how much time it took to prep and cook. Being a busy mom, I don’t have much extra time on my hands these days so I’m always searching for ways to make life a little easier.
This chicken and waffles hack is so easy that I bet you’ll be thinking “why didn’t I think of this sooner?”
Easy Chicken and Waffles Recipe Hack
Prep and cook your waffles as you normally would. If you’re using frozen waffles or a boxed batter, do your thing. I love this recipe for fluffy Belgian waffles. Honestly my family can’t get enough of them.
For your chicken, you’ll want to use already cooked chicken tenders. This will save you the most time. If you’re starting with frozen chicken tenders like Tyson brand then you’ll want to make sure you pop those into the oven while you’re making your waffles.
Chop the tenders into bite size pieces once they’re cooked if you’re making mini waffles like I did here. If you’re not then you can leave the tenders just as they are. Use a skewer to attach the tenders on top of the waffles. Serve your chicken and waffles hot so your family can enjoy.
I like to serve my chicken and waffles with maple syrup. My husband and I like to mix a little hot sauce into our maple syrup before diving in. If you’re serving this for dinner and are looking for a side dish, try this mac and cheese recipe.
