Have you ever wondered how to wear makeup with glasses? I wear my glasses literally every single day simply because I love them and because I just can’t stand poking my eye when I put contacts in. Wearing makeup with glasses can be a little tricky. I’ve started doing my makeup more lately so I’ve had to learn a few tips and tricks that work with my glasses. I’m going to share them with you today.
How to Wear Makeup with Glasses
Tip #1: Keep Your Brows on Point!
I can’t stress how important brows are when wearing glasses. Glasses make your eyes a major focal point of your face so keeping those brows clean and in-shape are major. If you’re feeling a little fancy, you can even highlight your brows so that they pop even more.
Tip #2: Mascara Will Be Your Best Friend
For a long time I hated wearing mascara because it would smudge on my glasses. Pretty annoying, right? There are 2 simple tricks to your mascara playing well with your glasses.
- Trick 1 – use an eyelash curler.
- Trick 2 – use eyelash primer like this one to prevent your mascara from smudging.
- Trick 3 – allow your mascara to dry before putting your glasses back on.
Tip #3: Choose Your Eyes or Lips
The general rule is to make either your eyes or lips the focal point of your makeup. I often choose my lips because let’s be honest, as a mom it’s hard enough getting on the basics let alone blending out eyeshadow. And the last thing that I want is to walk out of the house with horribly blended eyeshadow. If you’re like me, add a pop of color to your lips instead.
Tip #4: Setting Spray is Essential
I don’t know about where you live but in Florida it gets hot and my makeup sometimes get cakey. The day I discovered a setting spray was like the day a gift was dropped down from heaven. This Urban Decay Setting Spray is my absolute favorite! I’ve tried so many other setting sprays but nothing compares to this one. It will keep your makeup fabulous all day long and the best part is that you won’t have to worry about your makeup rubbing off and ruining your clothes anymore.
