Mid Century Modern Bathroom Reveal

Are you giving your bathroom a makeover? Take a look at our chic and trendy but functional mid century modern bathroom for inspiration.

To say that this bathroom is finally finished is so unreal. Are there things I still want to do in here? Absolutely but I’m totally happy with where it is now. We started decorating this bathroom shortly after we bought this house with the intention of only decorating once but that wasn’t the case at all.

Mid Century Modern Bathroom Reveal

If you remember when we first moved in we painted the entire bathroom blue. Oceanside by Sherwin Williams was the color. While the color was beautiful. it made this bathroom so dark and dull. I really, really hated it. Loved the color, hated the space I chose for it. So after months of living while a very dark guest bathroom, I decided to change the entire design all together. Boy was my husband happy with me.

In all honesty, it wasn’t that bad but priming and painting over a dark color is a total nightmare. In the future if we ever decide to take on a transition like that again we’re definitely hiring someone to do it. It isn’t hard. It’s just very time consuming and spending that amount of time on painting one tiny bathroom isn’t a good use of time.

In this bathroom I wanted to go with a mid century modern vibe to match the rest of our home. I love the timelessness of mid century modern styles. I mixed it with a touch of farmhouse with the rustic shelves and a bit of boho bringing in plants into the space. The DIY abstract art I created is housed here and it compliments the design.

Overall, the design came out beautifully. For now it’s perfect the way it is but in the future I’m thinking to either add some board and batten or shiplap into the space. I’m really into details and I think that it would add that extra special wow factor the bathroom is missing.
