Two Ingredient DIY Moon Sand
My daughter absolutely loves moon sand, or kinetic sand. The only problem with buying it in store is that it gets to be expensive after buying multiple colors and replacing the sand once it’s gone. I wanted to come up with an affordable alternative that we could make at home without breaking the bank. This DIY moon sand recipe is made up with only two ingredients. Yes, you only need two things to make this sand that your kids obsess over. If you’re wanting to add color to the sand, you’ll need an extra ingredient but it’s no biggie.
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Flour
- 1/3 Cup coconut oil (vegetable or canola oil works too)
- food coloring of choice (optional)
Instructions
- Using a large mixing bowl, combine both ingredients.
- Mix using a spoon or your hands until they are completely combined. Your sand should have a doughy sand consistency.
How to Store Your Moon Sand
Storing your moon sand is super simple. It should be stored in an airtight container like a ziploc bag or a plastic container with an airtight lid.
