One of the first requests that my daughter had when she found out we were moving into a new home was to create her own tween room. She wanted it to have all of the things she loved, which meant tons of toys, an art station, and a reading nook.
Everything You Need For Your Daughter’s Tween Room
1. An accent wall
The first thing we did when planning the design for her tween room was make an accent wall that she would love. We went to the paint store and allowed her to pick out a few of her favorite colors so that we could make an accent wall. Stripes were something simple that she could help paint and if she decided that she wanted something different later would be easy to paint over.2. Drawer labels
Organization is so important for a tween room. My daughter is not very organized, and without labels on everything in her room, it would be completely chaotic. We used these drawer labels to separate and organize her clothes so when it came time to put her laundry away, it would make it easier. 3. Batteries
How many electronics does your tween have? Mine has a ton! There are so many things in my daughter’s room that require batteries. It honestly seems like every time I turn around she needs batteries for something. Duracell is the #1 trusted brand, so I knew we couldn’t go wrong with buying their new Duracell Optimum batteries from CVS. They come in both AA and AAA in pack sizes of 4, 6, and 12, which is perfect because the last thing I want to happen is to run out of batteries. They also come with a resealable tray, which is perfect for storing unused batteries.4. Book shelves
Book shelves were a major must for Tatiana. She loves to read and at any given time is reading at least three books. Her collection of books is massive. I found the cutest cloud book shelves at a local store and knew right away they would be perfect for her room. She uses them to store the books that she’s currently reading and a few of her favorites that she likes to re-read.5. A desk
I’m convinced that every tween needs a desk in their room. They are perfect for doing homework, reading, or even arts and crafts. What are some absolute must haves for your tween’s room?
