Happy Wednesday! We’ve been back from our trip to Sarasota for a few days now. You all know how much my family loves the beach so when we got the opportunity to visit Lido Beach Resort for 2 nights we were so excited. Lido Beach Resort is a part of the Opal Collection Hotels & Resorts. If you remember, I visited their sister property Jupiter Beach Resort a while back and fell in love. Ever since then I’ve been a fan of the Opal properties and couldn’t wait to introduce my family to them.
Weekend Family Getaway at Lido Beach Resort
Location
Lido Beach Resort is located on Lido Key, just 5 minutes West of Sarasota. The property is right on a private beach on the Gulf of Mexico which makes the perfect destination for all of it’s guests. The view is absolutely breathtaking! It’s the perfect place for family vacations and couples getaways. It’d even make the perfect setting to get hitched. With 223 deluxe guest rooms and suites, there’s enough room for everyone. There’s nothing more peaceful than waking up to the sound of waves or taking a walk on the beach. One of Tatiana’s favorite things to do is read a book on the balcony of our room.
Another bonus of the location of the resort is that it’s only a short distance away from area attractions. St. Armands Circle was our go-to for shopping.

Where to Eat
Lido Beach Resort has 3 restaurant options and is famous for its Sunday brunch. Our first stop when we got to the resort was Café Lido. We ate there twice during our stay and the food was amazing both times. The breakfast menu has the basic staples with Spanish inspired flavors which we loved. Their lunch menu has something for everyone which means a lot because you know my husband and Tatiana are picky eaters. You have to order the calamari and taste a few of their cocktails.
Daily Happy Hour at the Tiki Bar is a must! They have an extensive cocktail list and appetizers that you’ll love.
We never made it to Lido Beach Grille but it’s on our list for our next visit. The Grille is on the 8th floor of the resort and is surrounded by nothing but windows. It makes the picture perfect scene for a romantic date night. They’re known for their American cuisine with an emphasis on fresh seafood. This is also where the famous Sunday brunch takes place. Brunch staples include a prime rib and omelet station, crepes, raw bar, breads and cheeses, and an extensive dessert selection.
What to Do
When you’re not relaxing, there are a few different things you can do at Lido Beach Resort. Not only do you have direct access to the beach but the resort has 2 heated beachfront pools and 3 poolside jacuzzis. One of the things we loved about the pool area was that they had a few poolside games available to play. If the beach or pool isn’t your thing, there’s a fitness center too.
It was raining during our visit so we were able to make a quick trip down to the pool in between the showers. Here’s a quick list of rainy day activities in Sarasota that you can knock out during your stay at Lido Beach Resort if you actually want to leave the resort.
We spent most of our time at the resort just enjoying everything that the property had to offer and spending some much needed family time together. This trip was one for the books and we’re planning heading back next year for some more family fun and possibly even just a couples stay. If you’re working within a budget and your travel plans are flexible, don’t forget that Lido Beach Resort has special savings offers throughout the year. They even offer savings for Florida residents.

I’ve heard a lot about Lido Beach but have never been there. My husband and I are full-time travelers now, so maybe we’ll be able to check it out soon.

You should definitely look into it! It’s the only resort on the beach in Lido and is so beautiful.
