If you’re designing a bathroom for your kids, I’ve got a few tips on how to create a fun and colorful kids bathroom that will inspire them to jumpstart the day on a positive note.
I’m so beyond excited to be sharing this bathroom reveal with you guys. I’ve been sharing behind the scenes on my Instagram stories and it’s finally time to share the reveal. We’ve been working on this for a little while and it turned out so great! When we moved into our house this bathroom was so basic and dull. I wanted to create a bright, colorful space where the kids would spend a portion of their day. It’s the first place they spend time in the morning and the last place they wash up at night.
Colorful Kids Bathroom Reveal
The first thing that I bought for this colorful kids bathroom makeover was the rainbow shower curtain from Target. It was the inspiration for the entire bathroom design. We only made some minor changes for this makeover and still want to make some major changes like switching out the countertops, bathroom sink and faucet, flooring, plus maybe adding some rainbow shiplap.
The changes we made to the kids bathroom for this mini makeover were cost effective and used supplies that we already had at home plus a few cans of spray paint. Overall the changes we made to this bathroom cost under $100.

Tips for Redecorating Your Kids Bathroom
Pick a theme
We chose to go with a rainbow theme for the bathroom. There’s no natural light in this bathroom and a rainbow theme seemed the right way to go. Tatiana loves rainbows and it was a perfect fit.
Choose the color scheme
Choosing the color scheme was so easy. We based the color scheme off of the shower curtain which was the first thing that we bought for the space.
Spray Paint Colors Used:
- Blue – BEHR Mayan Treasure
- Orange – BEHR Blazing Bonfire / Rustoleum Real Orange
- Pink – Rustoleum Berry Pink
- Green – Rustoleum Key Lime
- Purple – Rustoleum Grape
Add decor
For this space I had a few special things in mind that I wanted to incorporate. I created these rainbow DIY wooden dowel hooks that give the space an extra pop and add functionality to the bathroom. These rainbow shelves are shelves from IKEA that I used spray paint to customize. I styled the shelves with inspirational artwork that I created. They are probably my favorite part of the space.
I can’t wait to hear what you think about this bathroom reveal!
