We visited the beautiful St. Simons Island for a weekend getaway. Check out this list of things to do in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
If you’ve been following along with us on Instagram or Facebook, you might’ve seen that we went on a family vacation last weekend to the beautiful Saint Simons Island. The island neighbors Jekyll Island in the Golden Isles. We had an amazing time, but with only 2 days on the island we had to try to squeeze in everything that the island had to offer. Although it’s an island, it’s bigger than you may think and there are so many outdoor activities and things to do! It was our first time visiting St. Simons Island and we stayed at the amazing King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort. The staff was amazing and had some great suggestions on things we should do while we were in town. We had the opportunity to do a lot of fun things while we were on the island and we can’t wait to go back this summer!
6 Things to Do In St. Simons Island
1. Write Your Name in the sand on the beach
Something as simple as writing your names on the beach can bring you so much joy.
2. Visit Christ Episcopal Church
Christ Episcopal Church is a highly coveted sight to see in St. Simons Island. There is so much history that you literally get all the feels walking the grounds. You can take a self-guided tour around the property but only during certain times.

3. Go on a self guided tour at Fort Frederica
Visiting Fort Frederica was one of our favorite things to do in St. Simons Island. I love history and sharing my love of learning with Tatiana so visiting the Fort was a must. There is so much history at the Fort too. When we went to visit, we were the only ones on the property. It was nice to take the self-guided tour in peace and quiet. We weren’t rushed and were able to stroll at our own pace. You’re able to watch a short movie before you begin your tour that gives a little insight into what you’re actually touring.
4. Take a tour of the St. Simons Island Lighthouse
We weren’t able to take a tour of the Lighthouse Museum because it was closed but we will definitely be heading there on our next trip back.
5. Ride on the Trolley and take a tour of St. Simons Island
If you don’t have time to squeeze all of these things into your itinerary, the trolley tour is the one thing that is an absolute must! The trolley takes you through the entire island and you’ll get to see all of the sights at once.
6. Play with your kiddies at Neptune Park
Neptune Park is a favorite for tourists and locals alike. Tatiana really enjoyed playing at the park. It’s close to the pier so you can take a stroll there too while you’re at it.
