Traveling alone can be filled with so much fun. Keep these 6 essential solo road trip travel tips in mind for your next road trip. This post was sponsored by Ford. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I hit the road solo for Blogalicious this year and I had so much fun. It’s been a while since my last solo road trip. If you’ve never been on a road trip alone, you’re missing out. I know the thought of driving alone is scary to some but trust me, you’ll be fine. There’s something so thrilling about not having your kid ask “are we there yet?” every 5 seconds or having to use the bathroom or wanting something to eat. Road tripping alone can be therapeutic. It gives you a chance to sing at the top of your lungs, think without any interruptions, and explore the world to your heart’s content. Here’s a few of my favorite tips for your next solo road trip.
6 Solo Road Trip Travel Tips for Your Next Road Trip
1. Have a good playlist
A good playlist can work magic on your trip. My trip from Orlando to Miami was only a short 3-4 hours but I made a playlist on my phone that got me through the drive. With the Apple play in the Ford Fusion, I was able play my playlist straight from the car with the booming sound I wanted. Add your favorite songs to your playlist. You could even ask your friends and family what some of their favorite road trip songs are. I love a playlist with a good list of music that is upbeat and that’ll keep my energy going.
2. Plan your route in advance
Before hitting the road, be sure to plan your route. You’ll want to make sure that you account for any pit stops like bathroom breaks or sightseeing.

3. Use the navigation to keep you on track
The navigation in the Ford Fusion was an absolute life saver! I’ve been to Miami a few times before but never to the hotel that the conference was being held at. I put the address into the navigation and was on my way in no time. If I needed to make a route change, the navigation was there to help me.
4. Know your limits
When you’re driving alone, you have to know your limits. How many hours can you drive without exhausting yourself? Think about how long can you go between bathroom breaks and food stops. How many times can you listen to the same song over and over?
Think about all of these things before hitting the road. Know your limits when it comes to your car too. Think about how far you can drive without stopping for gas. One of the things that I love about the Ford Fusion is that it alerts me when the gas tank is nearly empty and how many miles I can drive before running out of gas.
5. Don’t just sit in the car
Road tripping alone can get boring. Don’t be afraid to add a few fun pit stops on your trip. Miami is known for their graffiti walls in the Wynwood neighborhood so I knew that I had to make a stop there on my way home. Do a quick search before your trip to find some things you would be interested in seeing along the way. Parks, national monuments, or landscapes are some of my favorites.
6. Pack snacks and water
Snacks and water are always a must on every road trip! They’re also a good way to save money while traveling.
