For the past few days, I’ve been on a fabulous little getaway at Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa. I was a little nervous about this trip at first because I’m not used to traveling alone and being away from T. I would be spending 3 days alone in a city that I had never been to before, and didn’t know what to expect. When I got to the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa, I felt like I was in paradise. All of those worries immediately fell to the back of my mind.
If you’re one that loves to travel, you have to add Jupiter to your travel bucket list for these reasons.
8 Reasons to Drop Everything and Head to Jupiter
1. It’s a paradise for beach lovers.
The beaches in Jupiter are drop dead gorgeous! I love the feeling of the sand in between my toes and you can usually find me anywhere there is water and sand. If you’re a beach lover like me, you’ll definitely love Jupiter. The Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa is the perfect place to stay if you’re searching for the perfect beach view during your trip. The beach is directly accessible from the resort and has everything that you’ll need for a beach day.
2. Fishing is fun.
Ok, maybe not deep sea fishing because the boat was rocky and I was miserable the entire time but I would definitely give fishing another shot just not on a boat. Fishing is a big trade in Jupiter and just as big a hobby. During my trip, I went deep sea fishing with a fabulous group of ladies. They caught fish and had a blast doing it. Although I was sick, I heard how much fun the ladies were having and would definitely give fishing another shot. I could only imagine how rewarding it is catching your own dinner. Fishing is a great group activity and gave me a chance to try something that I wouldn’t have tried at home.
3. There is a great piece of history there.
Jupiter has been around for hundreds of years. One of it’s most notable landmarks is the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse built in 1860. The lighthouse was built after the military marked Jupiter as a suitable area for military defenses. In addition to the lighthouse, there is a museum which depicts what life was like during that time period. It gives great insight into how far our society has come and makes you appreciate the things that you have.
4. You’ll eat the freshest catch of your life.
So this goes back to the whole fishing thing. When you catch your own fish, it tastes so much better.
5. There are plenty of places to shop.
Although Jupiter is a small town, there are plenty of places to shop. Whether you’re shopping for high end or low end ticket items, Jupiter has something for you. The town boasts stores such as Ross, TJ Maxx, Francesca’s, and White House Black Market.
6. Everywhere you go will be beautiful.
There are dozens of hidden gems in Jupiter. From the lighthouse to the restaurants to the parks, every single spot in Jupiter is beautiful and will take your breathe away.
7. The people are genuine and kind.
Jupiter was named the 9th “happiest seaside town in America” by Coastal Living in 2012. After my visit, I can definitely see why. Jupiter is a small town where the locals love living low key and are genuinely kind. While I was there, I was treated so well. Everywhere I went people waved and said hello. It is definitely nothing like Orlando or other big cities where dozens of people walk past you without acknowledging you. You’ll definitely feel like a friend to the locals.
8. After all of the peaceful moments, you’ll become better in touch with yourself.
It’s such a quite and peaceful town. There will be so many moments that you’ll have to think and reflect on your life. I learned a lot about myself on this trip. Some things were good and some were bad, but nothing that I would take back. I think spending a few days in Jupiter helped me to grow a little more and enabled me to finally move in the direction in life that I’ve always wanted to. Trust me when I say that you’ll love all of the peaceful moments and getting in touch with yourself.
Have you ever been to Jupiter? If not, drop everything and head there now. You’ll be so happy you did!
I absolutely adore lighthouses so Jupiter has my interest! Sounds like you had a great time. 🙂
