Busy moms, raise your hands.
If you’re like me, you know what it’s like to constantly have a long list of to-dos. One of my major focuses this year is to carve more time out everyday for myself. I’m hoping to get better at this whole self care things since I’m always pushing other mamas to take care of themselves so I’ve got to be an example, right? Lately one of my go-to self care activities is my hair. I’ve always loved doing with my hair and trying new things. Since our schedule is so packed lately, I’ve been trying out quick and easy everyday hairstyles for moms like me who have only a few minutes every morning to put themselves together.
I’m tired of the messy bun guys.
Braids are a big thing for me because they somehow pull everything together no matter what you’re wearing. For my everyday styles, my-go to is GLISS® Hair Repair™ from CVS. With the Florida heat, the moisture line is my top choice. Sometimes my hair gets damaged and I don’t even know it. GLISS’ Hair-Identical Keratin replaces the lost Keratin for re-gained strength and smoother hair surface. The patented technology repairs up to 10 layers deep, replacing lost Keratin for beautifully strong & smooth hair. After completing my wash and treatment routine with Schwarzkopf Gliss™ Ultimate Moisture line I’m all set to style my hair for a week of success.
Half Up Braided Bun Easy Everyday Hairstyle for Moms
5 Simple Steps
- First, start by sectioning your hair. I like to section my hair down the middle but a side part works too!
- Then, braid a section of both sides of your hair. You can make your braid as thin or as thick as you’d like. If you’re going for a larger bun, make the braids thicker.
- Secure both braids with a clear elastic.
- Using your fingers, spread the braids apart.
- Finally, twist both braids together into a bun.
If you don’t love wearing your hair out, you could even french braid your hair into a bun. Try an easy hairstyle like one of these the next time you’re in a hurry and let me know what you think.

These are really fun ideas and they look great on you. I have to get away from the “mom ponytail” that I wear every day.
Try adding a braid to the “mom ponytail.” It’ll instantly transition the look!
