I may be slightly obsessed with donuts. No matter what city we travel to, I find the best donut shop to give them a try. When we’re at home though I love making my favorite baked cake donut recipe to enjoy with my family. The recipe is so simple to make that even a beginning baker can complete it.

  4. Mix in eggs one at a time.
  5. Blend in vanilla and buttermilk.
  6. Gradually add flour.
  7. Scrape down sides to ensure that the batter is evenly combined.

  9. Pipe batter into greased mini donut pan, filling about 2/3 full.
  10. Bake for 7-9 minutes until toothpick inserted into donuts comes out clean.

While I love to use fresh home baked donuts for this recipe, you can always use store bought to make these unicorn donuts if you’re in a time crunch. All you need is cake donuts to get started.

Follow the instructions below to decorate the donuts in the fun unicorn galaxy style.
