Are you new to using your Cricut? These simple Cricut projects for beginners are the perfect place to stat with getting your feet wet on your new machine. This post is sponsored by Cricut. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
When I first joined the Cricut family I was completely overwhelmed. There were so many possibilities, multiple functions, various tools and so many combinations of projects that I could complete. I honestly just didn’t know where to start. The first machine that I purchased was a blue Air Explore 2. It had the capabilities that I wanted and I would be able to make a wide range of projects with it. Figuring out where to start was probably the hardest part. Choosing that first project is like a kid choosing just one piece of candy in a candy store. Everything looks enticing but some things are sweeter than others.
If you’re just joining the Cricut family try not to get too overwhelmed. Here’s a few simple Cricut projects for beginners that I think you’ll love and find easy enough to create.
Simple Cricut Projects for Beginners
Iron-On Vinyl T-Shirts
I chose to start myself off with the one project that I’ve seen people make the most with their Cricut. T-shirts seem to be a popular project so I figured that it couldn’t be that hard. Honestly the hardest part about making a t-shirt with iron-on vinyl is remembering to mirror your image. Other than that this project was easy and perfect for beginners. The images in Cricut Design Space made it easy for me to start with something simple. I picked out an image that was simple enough for me to weed on my first try. I’d say overall this project took me maybe 30 minutes from start to finish. I’ve also made t-shirts with Cricut Infusible Ink like these here and have gotten so many comments about them. T-shirts and customizing any clothing items are probably my favorite to make.
DIY Cards
I’ll have to admit that I don’t love cards for myself but I love giving them. It’s so incredibly easy to make cards with my Cricut Joy. Customized designs and the Cricut Joy card mats make everything simple. They have an entire kit just for card making. We’ve made cards for birthdays, holidays, baby showers and so many other occasions.
Cardstock Bookmarks
Bookmarks are super fun to make and a great gift to give. We made this coloring bookmarks and my kids love them so much. My daughter is constantly reading more than one book at a time and these are a great solution for her to hold her place in the books she’s reading. She can color each one and customize them any way she wants.
There are so many Cricut projects for beginners out there. What will you start with when you get your first Cricut machine?
