Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop Tarts

Ingredients
Filling
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsbp coconut oil melted
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Frosting
  • 3/4 cups confectioners sugar
  • 2 tbsp almond milk (regular milk can be used here too)
Instructions
Filling
  1. Add all filling ingredients to a bowl and mix. Set aside.

  2. On a floured surface, unroll your crust/pastry.

  3. Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough into a rectangle. Cut the dough into 6 even rectangular shapes.

  4. Add about 1 tbsp of filling to the center of the dough.

  5. Take the other piece of dough and cut into a rectangle. Then cut into 6 even rectangular shapes.

  6. Using your finger, dab the edges of the filled rectangles with water.

  7. Place the unfilled dough onto the filled dough. Use a fork to gently crimp the edges closed.

  8. Cook in the oven according to the instructions on the pie crust box.

  9. We typically bake for about 9 minutes at 350 degrees. Let them cool on a baking sheet before frosting.

Frosting
  1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl until smooth.

  2. Drizzle the frosting over the pop tarts.

  3. For an added flair, dust with a layer of sprinkles or coconut flakes.
