Summer is one of my favorite seasons. It has been since I was a kid. There’s just something about the freedom that comes with summer that is so nostalgic. Before having kids, I used to love wearing bikini sets. Needless to say things have changed now. After two kids, my body isn’t exactly in bikini shape. These days the it takes a little more to be confident in those summer bathing suits.
Whether it’s the sand between my toes at the beach or lounging out by the pool, confidence is something that I want to have all summer long. Here’s a few of my go-to tips for feeling more confident in your bathing suits this summer.
Feeling More Confident Your Summer Bathing Suits With These Tips
1. Pick a bathing suit that fits your body shape best.
Finding the right suit can be difficult. When shopping, keep your body shape in mind. Try on the suits while shopping to make sure it’s exactly the fit you’re going for. If you’re expecting, there’s tons of great options out there that will make you glow even more. I shared a few of my favorite maternity swimsuit picks here.
2. Don’t be afraid to try patterns or colors.
I love patterned bathing suits. Each season there’s a new influx of patterns that I can’t resist shopping. Polka dots is one of my favorites. Don’t be afraid to try patterns and colored suits. They’re fun and can the patterns can be used to draw attention and accentuate the right parts of your body.
When I’m shopping for colored suits, picking a color that compliments my skin tone looks best. Black, yellow, and red are my colors! Pink is fun too. I decided to choose those colors because I get the most compliments when wearing them.
3. Try a two piece swimsuit that is high waisted.
After having kids, it took me years to go back to wearing a two-piece bikini set. There’s something I just love about a high waisted bikini. It can bring some major confidence to your summer suit wearing days. If you’re struggling with how confident your feel about your mom bod, a high waisted swimsuit can help to shape your body.
4. A bikini wax at Waxing The City is a must.
For some extra added confidence, a bikini wax is a must. This was my first time visiting Waxing The City. I visited the location in Altamonte Springs. When I arrived, I instantly fell in love with the studio. The design was modern and eye-catching. They had all the products I needed in the After Care Zone for maintenance. My experience was amazing! I’ve never had a more seamless, painless wax. The process was quick and easy. My cerologist (wax expert) knew exactly what she was doing and talked me through the entire process. I definitely plan on going back in about 4 weeks for another wax. I might even give a brow wax a try too. Did you know that when waxing is done consistently, hair grows back slower, finer, and sparser, giving you better long-term results?
If you’re planning on wearing your favorite summer bathing suits all season long, I would definitely suggest you get a wax at Waxing The City. First time guests can receive 50% off their service. Visit waxingthecity.com to schedule your service.
5. Go for classic black.
You can never go wrong with classic black. Black looks amazing on everyone and can accentuate your curves in your suit. Whenever I’m feeling least confident, I throw on my black bathing suit.
6. Add a smile to go with your suit.
A smile makes everything look better. Once you’ve got the right suit for your body and have completed your wax, you’re all set for your next vacation.
7. Shop in store for your summer bathing suits
I know that shopping in store is such a hassle but I love having the ability to try the swimsuits on in store. In store try-ons help you make a decision right then and there about how you feel in the suit. My rule of thumb is to always go with your first gut feeling about the suit. If you put it on and you’re absolutely in love then it’s one you need to add to your collection. If you’re not sure about it, leave it in the store. Don’t try to convince yourself that you love it because in the long run you’ll probably change your mind and never end up wearing it.
8. Keep a list of positive affirmations
Hyping yourself up can be the best thing to help you feel confident in your summer bathing suits. Keeping a list of positive affirmations to read before wearing your summer bathing suits is a great way to create a more positive mindset.
