I was super excited when Into The Gloss Founder, Emily Weiss, introduced her beauty line Glossier! I received the Glossier Phase 1 to review and I couldn’t wait to try it out. I’m a sucker for great packaging. It literally makes me so happy when I get something in cute packaging. To me it means that the time was taken to consider every single aspect of the brand. The Glossier Phase 1 packaging is brilliant! Each box has a fun saying printed on the inside. It comes with super cute stickers (who doesn’t love stickers?) and a tote bag for your products.
Phase 1 consists of 4 products: Soothing Face Mist, Priming Moisturizer, Perfecting Skin Tint, and Balm Dotcom. Sold separately or as a complete set for $80, each product is hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, paraben and fragrance free. Oh, and let’s not forget that these beauties aren’t tested on animals either. The products contain key ingredients such as lanolin, rosewater, aloe, and glycerin.
So, how does Glossier’s Phase 1 actually hold up?
Soothing Face Mist ($18): The Soothing Face Mist has a rosewater and aloe base. If you’re a fan of either of the two, you should definitely give it a try. Spray the mist before applying the priming moisturizer and you’re good to go. You can also use it if your skin needs a little pick me up. I wouldn’t use this in combination with the priming moisturizer only because I have combination skin and my face would be an oily mess with all of this extra added moisture.
Priming Moisturizer ($25): Who doesn’t love a good moisturizer? I was super excited to try Glossier’s Priming Moisturizer. It’s really lightweight and goes on smoothly without looking greasy. It’s scentless which is great! I love applying this right after I wash my face before bedtime.
Perfecting Skin Tint ($26): The Perfecting Skin Tint comes in three shades: light, medium, and dark. If you’re looking for full coverage, this is definitely not for you but I love this! I always have those days when I don’t want to put on makeup and the perfecting skin tint is perfect for those days. It’s super sheer formula is great for evening out any discoloration and to make those dark spots fade away. It’s super creamy and smooth enough to apply with just your fingers.
Balm Dotcom ($12): This literally is the “balm dotcom!” You can use this either by itself or before you put your lipstick on. It’ll help keep your lips hydrated all day. It’s perfect to use right before using a matte lipstick!
All in all, I’m in love with the Glossier Phase 1 Set and I can’t wait to see what Phase 2 is like! Have you tried Phase 1 yet? If not, be sure to check it out and tell me your thoughts.
