I’ve been natural for going on 6 years now, and it has definitely been a journey. I can’t even count all of the things I’ve tried throughout the years. Maintaining natural hair is a challenge, but since the big chop my hair feels so much healthier. After tons of trial and error, I’ve finally figured out some things that I love!

I’m totally with you on favs for natural haircare. Leave in Conditioner does wonders for manageability and sheen, once it dries. For me African Pride Hairdress is a must. My scalp needs the extra moisture because I wear scarves sometimes on my wiggy days. A Sister has to change it up. Good post! I’d actually like to try that As I Am.

Henna, coconut oil, and castor oil. I henna twice a month and use coconut oil before I do. Henna could be drying so the coconut oil definitely helps. Castor oil – I have been using this as part of a challenge. For conditioner, I mostly use whatever Shea Moisture is on sale. I do a deep conditioner every time I henna and use an apple cider vinegar rinse. This has greatly helped my hair. I have been natural for 12 years.
