Yesterday I talked about having the opportunity to attend the I Am Brave: Orlando Women’s Success Seminar. You saw what I wore and know you get to find out what I learned. I love going to seminars and conferences because I always learn so much. The lineup included such powerful women like Melanie Pace, Monica May, Coach Jenn Lee, Angela Doggett Brown, Dr. Romie Mushtaq, and Tia Maldonado. All of the women exuded so much strength, power, and knowledge. It felt amazing to be among a group of like minded women.
1. “Fake it ’til you make it.”
It was great listening to Melanie Pace. Her funny story of how she started out as a stylist and personal shopper was hilarious. She reminded me that sometimes you just have to fake it until you make it, and you always have to believe in yourself.
2. “You don’t have to break doors down chasing the things that are already in your destiny.”
Angela Doggett Brown was an amazing speaker. Her story was one that really touched me because I could tell that it came from her heart and was genuine. After she shared her story with us, it inspired me to slow down and enjoy life rather than always moving at 100 mph and never having time to really live. She encouraged us to take time and enjoy life. Your blessings will come to you no matter what.
3. Don’t let your baggage from the past weigh you down in the future.
Tia Maldonado gave us great info on how to let go of all of the things from the past that are keeping you from succeeding. I think this is a lesson that everyone can learn from because sometimes we all let things hold us back from fulfilling our destiny.
4. “Risk is a part of life, work, and love. If you leap, a net will appear. Never be afraid to move to the next level.
Monica May is the speaker that touched me the most. I loved her whit, spunk, and wisdom. She talked a lot about respect and taking risks in life. She also talked about the way you present yourself daily. You always have to dress the part if you want people to take you seriously and respect you. I resonated with so many things that she said that it’s hard to sum everything up in just a few sentences.
All in all, I had an amazing time at the Orlando Women’s Success Seminar. I learned that you have to take risks, but also slow down and enjoy life. Don’t stress the little things because life is too short. Just enjoy the ride while you can and always remember to present yourself in the best way at all times. I can’t wait to see what the next Orlando Women’s Success Seminar is like. Hope to see you there!
